Supporting Child Care Providers & Parents
Little Leaders has supported over 100 child care providers and over 2500 families in Halton Region since our inception in 2000. We are now expanding & offering our services to Hamilton and Mississauga. Our child care homes are founded on the belief that each unique child and family’s needs are of the utmost importance, and our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.
We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the most tailored child care experience for your unique family’s needs.
Founder, Financial Manager
Wendy Miller founded Little Leaders Home Child Care Agency in 1999, after reading about a need for a stronger home child care program in the Toronto Star. She felt that she would have the ability to blend the best of home child care and centre-based care into one loving home child care space, and wanted to bring this vision to life. Over the last 20+ years, child care has changed in many ways, but Wendy’s vision has always remained the same - to create strong, educational, play-based learning programs in Halton’s home child care programs.
After 18 years as the face of Little Leaders, Wendy has taken a step back and operates now solely as our financial manager, getting back to her chartered-accountant roots.
Home child care in Halton Region is forever changed, thanks to Wendy’s vision, hard-work, and passion for child care.
Jennifer Hyland joined Little Leaders in 2015. It was natural to welcome her to the Little Leaders team, having watched her mother, Wendy, operate Little Leaders for many years. Jennifer’s interests lie in nutrition, and childhood nutrition, having earned an honours bachelor’s degree in life science from McMaster University, and a diploma in holistic nutrition from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Currently, Jennifer is in the process of becoming an Early Childhood Educator.

She oversees the home child care programs, and the relationships between the Ministry of Education and Halton Region, as well as the intimate relationships of children, providers, and parents in each of the homes.
